A Woman Desired - A Mother's Day Tribute (Manila, Philippines)

My dad said he remembered the first time he saw my mother. He had just returned from Vietnam and was at the Dairy Dee with his friends one Saturday Night in Roanoke, Alabama. And my dad said he saw my mom walk through the front door.

He elbowed one of his buddies, “Who is that?”

They didn’t know. My mom was a woman desired.

On the other side of the room, the fat lady who was friends with my mother looked at my dad and elbowed her, “Who is that?”
